Sea Areas Around Sri Lanka to Experience Showers and Fairly Rough Conditions
Sea areas around Sri Lanka are expected to experience unsettled weather conditions during the next 24 hours, according to the latest marine weather forecast.
Showers will occur at several places in the sea areas off the coast extending from Kankasanthurai to Pottuvil via Trincomalee, while other surrounding sea areas may also experience isolated showers.
Winds will be easterly to north-easterly, with speeds ranging between 25 to 35 kmph. However, wind speeds may increase up to 45 kmph at times, particularly in sea areas off the coast from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Galle to Pottuvil via Hambantota.
The sea areas in these regions are expected to be fairly rough at times, while other sea areas around the island will remain moderate. Temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas may occur during thundershowers, and marine communities are advised to remain vigilant and follow future advisories.
