Showery Conditions Expected to Persist Across Sri Lanka on January 13
Weather conditions across Sri Lanka are expected to remain unsettled on 13 January 2026, with several spells of showers forecast for Northern, North-Central, Uva, Eastern and Central provinces, as well as the Hambantota district. These areas may experience intermittent rainfall during the day.
In addition, showers or thundershowers are likely after 1.00 p.m. in the Western, Sabaragamuwa and North-Western provinces, including Galle and Matara districts. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 50 mm may occur at some locations.
Misty conditions are expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, along with Galle, Matara and Kurunegala districts, which could reduce visibility.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers and to stay alert to weather updates.
