Issued at 04.00 p.m. on 22 December 2025
The Department of Meteorology forecasts generally fair weather across most parts of Sri Lanka during the next 36 hours, with isolated showers and misty conditions expected in selected regions.

A few showers may occur in the Uva and Eastern Provinces and in the Matale, Nuwara Eliya, Polonnaruwa, and Hambantota districts. In addition, showers or thundershowers may develop at a few locations in the Ratnapura, Galle, Matara, and Kalutara districts, particularly after 2.00 p.m.
Most other areas of the island are expected to experience mainly fair weather during this period.

Furthermore, misty conditions may occur during the early morning hours in parts of the Sabaragamuwa and Central Provinces, as well as in Colombo, Kalutara, Badulla, Galle, and Matara districts, which may reduce visibility for road users.
The public is advised to exercise caution during morning travel and remain alert to localized weather changes.
