Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at several places across Sri Lanka after 1.00 p.m., particularly affecting the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Eastern and North-Central provinces. These afternoon showers may bring temporary heavy rainfall in some areas, along with gusty winds and lightning.
In addition, showers are likely to occur during the morning hours in coastal areas of the Southern Province and in the Kalutara and Colombo districts. Residents in these regions should remain alert for sudden changes in weather conditions throughout the day.
Misty conditions can be expected during the early morning in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara and Polonnaruwa districts. Motorists are advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility.
The general public is kindly requested to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
