Showers or thundershowers are expected at a few places in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces today, mainly after 2.00 p.m. Similar conditions are likely in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, and Mannar. However, most other parts of the island will experience mainly dry and stable weather throughout the day.
Misty conditions can be expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Ampara district. Motorists are advised to be cautious due to reduced visibility.
The public is kindly requested to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Due to the apparent northward movement of the sun, it will be directly overhead Sri Lanka from 5th to 15th April. Areas such as Chilaw, Bingiriya, and nearby regions will experience overhead sun conditions around 12:12 noon today.
