Atmospheric conditions across Sri Lanka are expected to support the development of afternoon thundershowers in most parts of the island. Showers or thundershowers will occur at several locations after 1.00 p.m., bringing widespread rainfall during the afternoon and evening hours. Fairly heavy showers exceeding 75 mm are likely in some areas of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, North-Central, and Eastern provinces.
Misty conditions can be expected during the early morning hours in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-Central provinces, as well as in the Kurunegala and Vavuniya districts. Motorists are advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility.
The general public is urged to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
