Winds will be north-easterly or variable, with speeds of 20–30 kmph, occasionally increasing up to 40 kmph in sea areas from Puttalam to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota. Sea conditions will be moderate at times in these areas, while remaining slight elsewhere. Temporary strong winds and rough seas may occur during thundershowers.
