A few showers are expected in the Northern and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka today, while the rest of the island will experience mainly dry weather conditions. According to the forecast, scattered showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Sabaragamuwa, Southern and Uva provinces during the evening or night. Similar conditions may also affect the Kandy and Nuwara Eliya districts later in the day.

For most other parts of the country, weather conditions will remain largely dry and stable. However, misty conditions can be expected during the early hours of the morning in several areas. These include the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, as well as the Galle and Matara districts. Motorists are advised to drive carefully during the morning hours as reduced visibility may occur due to mist.
Sea Areas Forecast (Next 24 Hours)

A few showers are also likely in the sea areas extending from Mannar to Pottuvil via Kankasanthurai, Trincomalee and Batticaloa. In other surrounding sea areas, mainly fair weather will prevail.
Winds will be easterly to northeasterly with wind speeds ranging between 20–30 kmph. At times, wind speeds may increase up to 40 kmph in sea areas from Mannar to Colombo via Puttalam and from Matara to Pottuvil. Sea conditions in these areas will be moderate, while other sea areas around the island are expected to remain slight.
