Mostly Fair Conditions with Isolated Showers

The Department of Meteorology forecasts generally fair weather conditions across much of Sri Lanka today, with a few isolated showers expected in several districts.
A few showers may occur in the Uva Province and in the Ampara, Batticaloa, Matale, Nuwara Eliya, and Hambantota districts, while the rest of the island is likely to experience mainly fair weather throughout the day.
Fairly strong winds of around 40 kmph can be expected at times over the eastern slopes of the central hills, the North-Western Province, and in the Ampara, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts.
In addition, misty conditions may develop during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces, as well as in the Galle and Matara districts, which could affect visibility for commuters.
Residents in windy areas and motorists in mist-prone regions are advised to exercise extra caution during the day.
