Showers Continue with Strong Winds and Morning Mist

The Department of Meteorology forecasts continued unsettled weather conditions across several parts of Sri Lanka on Sunday, with intermittent showers, fairly strong winds, and misty conditions during the early morning hours.
Several spells of showers are expected in the Eastern, Uva, and Central Provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa and Hambantota districts, bringing persistent rainfall to these regions throughout the day.
Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may develop at a few locations in the Sabaragamuwa Province and in the Galle, Matara, and Kalutara districts, particularly after 2.00 p.m.
Fairly strong winds of around 40 kmph are likely at times over the eastern slopes of the central hills, Northern, Eastern, North-Central, and North-Western Provinces, along with Hambantota and Monaragala districts.
In addition, misty conditions can be expected in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and Central Provinces, as well as Galle and Matara, during the early morning, which may reduce visibility on roads.
The general public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage from temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
