Dry Weather to Continue Across Sri Lanka on January 19
Mainly dry weather is expected to prevail across most parts of Sri Lanka on January 19, according to the latest weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m. Stable atmospheric conditions will bring generally fair weather to many areas of the island.
There is a possibility of ground frost during the early morning hours at some places in the Nuwara Eliya district, particularly in higher elevations. Farmers and residents in frost-prone areas are advised to take appropriate precautions.
In addition, misty conditions are likely to develop during the early hours of the morning in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, North-Central and Uva provinces, as well as in the Galle, Matara and Ampara districts, which may temporarily reduce visibility.
Marine conditions around the island are expected to remain mainly fair over the next 24 hours. Winds will be north-easterly to northerly, with speeds of 25 to 35 kmph, while sea conditions are expected to be slight to moderate, allowing normal fishing and naval activities to continue.
