Weather Conditions to Improve Across Sri Lanka from January 15
Showery conditions affecting many parts of Sri Lanka are expected to gradually reduce from tomorrow, January 15, according to the latest weather forecast issued at 5.30 a.m. on January 14, 2026.
A few showers are likely to occur in the Uva, Eastern and Central provinces, while showers or thundershowers may develop at a few locations in the Western Province, as well as in the Galle, Matara and Ratnapura districts, mainly after 2.00 p.m..
Elsewhere across the island, mainly fair weather conditions are expected to prevail during the day.
Meanwhile, misty conditions can be anticipated during the early morning hours in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa and Central provinces, including the Galle and Matara districts, which may reduce visibility in some areas.
The general public is advised to remain vigilant and take necessary precautions to minimize potential damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
