Sri Lanka is expected to experience mainly dry weather across most parts of the country on 23 July 2026, according to the latest weather forecast. However, residents in the Western and North-western coastal areas should expect a few morning showers, particularly in Galle District.
The rest of the island will remain largely dry, providing favorable conditions for outdoor activities, travel, and agriculture. Despite the dry weather, fairly strong winds of 30–40 kmph are expected at times in the Northern and North-central provinces as well as Hambantota District. Sea Area Forecast
For the surrounding sea areas, a few showers may occur in the waters extending from Negombo to Galle via Colombo. Winds will be south-westerly, with speeds of 30–40 kmph, increasing up to 50 kmph at times in the sea areas stretching from Kalpitiya to Kankasanthurai via Mannar and from Hambantota to Pottuvil.
Due to these stronger winds, the sea will be fairly rough in the affected coastal waters. Fishermen, naval operators, and other marine users are advised to exercise caution when venturing into these areas. Other sea regions around Sri Lanka are expected to remain in comparatively calmer conditions.
