SRI LANKA WEATHER FORECAST FOR 14 JULY 2026

Sri Lanka is expected to experience a mix of showers, dry weather, and strong winds on 14 July 2026, according to the latest weather forecast. Several spells of showers will affect Sabaragamuwa Province and the districts of Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle, and Matara, while a few light showers are also possible in the Western and North-Western provinces.

Most other parts of the island will enjoy mainly dry weather, providing favorable conditions for travel, outdoor activities, and agriculture. However, residents in the wetter regions should remain prepared for intermittent rainfall throughout the day.

Strong winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the North-Central and North-Western provinces, and in the districts of Monaragala, Hambantota, Trincomalee, and Mannar. People in these areas are advised to secure loose outdoor objects and exercise caution, especially when traveling.

Sea Condition

In the surrounding sea areas, a few showers may occur off the coast from Negombo to Galle via Colombo. South-westerly winds will blow at 30–40 kmph, strengthening to 50–60 kmph in the sea areas extending from Chilaw to Kankasanthurai via Puttalam and from Matara to Pottuvil via Hambantota. Winds in other sea areas may also increase to around 50 kmph at times.

Sea conditions will be rough in the waters off Chilaw to Kankasanthurai and from Matara to Pottuvil, while other sea areas may become fairly rough. Wave heights of 2.0 to 2.5 meters are expected from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle, and Hambantota.

Fishermen, naval operators, and those planning marine activities are advised to remain alert due to strong winds, rough seas, and elevated wave conditions.
