SRI LANKA WEATHER FORECAST FOR 10 JULY 2026

Sri Lanka is expected to experience a mix of isolated showers and dry weather on 10 July 2026, according to the latest weather forecast. A few showers are likely in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya. The rest of the island is expected to remain mainly dry, providing favorable conditions for outdoor activities in many regions.

However, residents should remain alert as strong winds of 40–50 kmph are expected at times over the western slopes of the Central Hills, the North-Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces, and in the districts of Puttalam, Hambantota, Trincomalee, and Mannar. These windy conditions may affect travel and outdoor work, especially in exposed areas.

Sea Conditions

For sea areas around Sri Lanka, a few showers are expected off the coast from Negombo to Galle via Colombo. South-westerly winds will blow at 30–40 kmph, with speeds increasing to 50–60 kmph at times in the sea areas from Hambantota to Pottuvil. Winds may also reach up to 50 kmph in other surrounding sea areas.

The sea off the coast from Hambantota to Pottuvil will be rough at times, while other sea areas may become fairly rough. Wave heights are expected to increase to 2.0–3.0 meters in the sea areas from Puttalam to Galle via Colombo. Fishermen and naval communities are advised to exercise caution, while the public should remain aware of changing weather conditions and strong winds.
