Showers or thundershowers are expected at several places across much of Sri Lanka after 2.00 p.m., particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, Uva, Eastern, and North-Central provinces. Fairly heavy rainfall of around 50 mm is likely in some areas, especially in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in the Polonnaruwa district.
During the early morning hours, misty conditions may occur in parts of the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and North-Central provinces, along with the Jaffna and Kurunegala districts. Motorists are advised to exercise caution due to reduced visibility.
The public is kindly urged to take necessary precautions against temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers. Meanwhile, due to the sun’s northward movement, it will be directly overhead in parts of the island, including Dodanduwa, Rathgama, Akuressa, and surrounding areas, around 12:13 p.m. today.

A few showers or thundershowers may occur in sea areas from Galle to Batticaloa via Hambantota and Pottuvil during the evening or night. Winds will be south-westerly or variable at 20–30 kmph, and sea conditions will remain slight, though temporary strong winds and rough seas are possible during thundershowers.
