Warm weather conditions are expected to continue across Sri Lanka on 30 March 2026, with much of the island experiencing dry and hot daytime temperatures. However, some relief from the heat is likely later in the day, as showers or thundershowers may develop in parts of the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, particularly after 2.00 p.m. Similar conditions are also expected in the Galle and Matara districts.
Most other areas of the country will remain mainly dry throughout the day, with clear to partly cloudy skies. During the early morning hours, misty conditions may occur in the Western, Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces, as well as in Galle and Matara. Drivers are advised to be cautious due to reduced visibility.
The public is urged to take precautions against lightning and temporary strong winds during thundershowers.
Sea Areas Forecast (Next 24 Hours)
A few showers or thundershowers may occur in the sea areas from Colombo to Matara via Galle during the evening or night, while other sea areas will remain mostly fair. Winds will be variable at 20–30 kmph, and sea conditions around the island will be slight.
