SRI LANKA WEATHER FORECAST,17th OF JUNE 2026

Sri Lanka is expected to experience unsettled weather conditions on 17 June, with several spells of showers forecast for the Western, Sabaragamuwa, and North-Western provinces. Rainfall is also expected in the districts of Galle, Matara, Kandy, and Nuwara Eliya as the southwest monsoon continues to influence weather patterns across the island.

According to the forecast, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva and Eastern provinces, as well as in the Mullaittivu district, particularly after 2.00 p.m. Residents in these areas should remain alert for sudden changes in weather conditions during the afternoon and evening hours.

Fairly strong winds with speeds of 30–40 kmph can be expected at times over the western slopes of the central hills, the Southern and North-Central provinces, and in the Trincomalee district. The public is advised to take necessary precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning associated with thundershowers.
