Showers or thundershowers are expected to occur at several places across most parts of Sri Lanka after 1.00 p.m. today, bringing unsettled weather conditions to many areas. Morning showers are also likely in parts of the Southern Province and in the Ampara district, indicating widespread rainfall activity throughout the day.
Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm can be expected at some locations in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, North-Western, Southern and Uva provinces, as well as in the Anuradhapura district. Residents in these areas should remain alert, as intense rainfall may lead to localized flooding and temporary disruptions.
Misty conditions are likely during the early morning hours in parts of the Central and Sabaragamuwa provinces and in the districts of Anuradhapura, Kurunegala and Badulla. Motorists are advised to drive carefully due to reduced visibility.
The public is kindly requested to take necessary precautions to minimize damages caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in the sea areas extending from Puttalam to Pottuvil via Colombo, Galle and Hambantota. Winds will be southerly or variable, with speeds around 20–30 kmph. Sea conditions around the island will be slight to moderate, but temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas may occur during thundershowers.
