SRI LANKA WEATHER FORECAST FOR TOMORROW,07 MAY 2026

An increase in rainfall is expected across Sri Lanka over the next few days due to a developing low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of the island. This system is likely to bring widespread showers and unsettled weather conditions.

Showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the island after 1.00 p.m. Additionally, morning showers are expected in the Western and Southern provinces, indicating a continuation of wet conditions throughout the day in these areas.

Heavy rainfall exceeding 100 mm is likely at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern, and North-Central provinces. Meanwhile, fairly heavy falls above 50 mm can be expected in several other regions of the country. These conditions may lead to localized flooding and disruptions, particularly in low-lying areas.

Misty conditions can also be expected in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces during the early hours of the morning, which may reduce visibility for motorists.

The public is strongly advised to take adequate precautions to minimize damage caused by temporary localized strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.

Sea Areas Forecast (Next 24 Hours)
Showers or thundershowers will occur in sea areas around the island. Winds will be south-westerly at 25–35 kmph. The sea condition is expected to be slight to moderate, but temporarily strong gusty winds and very rough seas may occur during thundershowers.
