Sri Lanka is expected to experience a mix of wet and dry weather conditions on April 13, 2026, according to the latest forecast issued at 2.00 p.m. on April 12. Showers or thundershowers will develop in the afternoon or evening across the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, North-western, and Uva provinces, as well as in Ampara, Batticaloa, and Polonnaruwa districts. Morning showers are also possible in parts of Hambantota, Ampara, Batticaloa, and Monaragala.
Fairly heavy rainfall of around 75 mm is likely in several areas, particularly in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, Southern, and Uva provinces. Meanwhile, other parts of the island will experience mainly dry weather. Misty conditions can be expected during the early morning in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, Uva, and Northern provinces, including Kurunegala district.
Residents are advised to take precautions against lightning and temporary strong winds during thundershowers.

Sea Areas Forecast(Next 24 Hours)
In sea areas, showers or thundershowers are expected along coastal regions from Puttalam to Trincomalee via Colombo, Galle, Hambantota, and Batticaloa. Winds will be south-westerly or variable at 20–30 kmph, and seas will remain slight, though temporarily rough during storms.
