The prevailing showery weather condition across Sri Lanka is expected to continue over the next few days due to a low-level atmospheric disturbance in the vicinity of the island. According to the latest weather forecast, showers or thundershowers will occur in most parts of the country after 1.00 p.m.
Morning showers are also likely in the Western, North-Western and Northern provinces, as well as in the districts of Trincomalee, Galle and Matara. Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm can be expected at some places in the Sabaragamuwa, Central, Uva, Southern and North-Central provinces.
Misty conditions may occur during the early morning hours in parts of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces. The public is advised to remain cautious, as temporary localized strong winds and lightning may accompany thundershowers. Necessary precautions should be taken to minimize possible damages caused by severe weather conditions.
