According to the latest forecast issued at 2:00 p.m. on 10 April 2026, several parts of Sri Lanka can expect showers or thundershowers after 2:00 p.m. These conditions will mainly affect the Western, Sabaragamuwa, North-Western, Southern, and Uva provinces, along with districts such as Anuradhapura, Mannar, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Ampara, and Batticaloa. Meanwhile, most other areas of the island will experience mainly dry weather.
Misty conditions are likely during the early morning in the Central, Sabaragamuwa, and Uva provinces, as well as in Ampara district. The public is advised to take necessary precautions against temporary strong winds and lightning during thundershowers.
Astronomically, due to the sun’s apparent northward movement, it will be directly overhead Sri Lanka between 5th and 15th April. On 11 April, areas such as Pomparippu, Anuradhapura, Mihinthale, Galenbindunuwewa, Agbopura, and Serunuwara will experience this around 12:11 noon.

Sea areas around the island will also see showers, especially from Galle to Trincomalee. Winds may strengthen up to 40 kmph in some regions, with rough sea conditions expected at times.
