# SRI LANKA WEATHER FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, 06 OCTOBER 2026

Sri Lanka is expected to experience unsettled weather conditions on 06 October, 
with showers or thundershowers occurring at several places across a number of provinces
after 1.00 p.m. Rainfall activity is expected in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central,
Uva, North-Western and Southern provinces, as well as in the Anuradhapura and Mannar
districts.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some locations in the Western,
Sabaragamuwa, Central and Southern provinces. Residents in these areas are advised
to remain alert to changing weather conditions. Temporary localized strong winds
and lightning may accompany thundershowers, and the general public is requested 
to take adequate precautions to minimize possible damage.

Misty conditions can also be expected during the early morning hours in some areas
of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces. Reduced visibility may affect motorists,
particularly in elevated and hilly areas.

### **Sea Areas Forecast**

Showers or thundershowers are expected in several sea areas extending from Mannar
to Matara via Puttalam, Colombo and Galle during the evening or night. South-westerly
winds will prevail at speeds of 20–30 kmph. Sea conditions around the island will
generally be slight.

However, temporarily strong gusty winds of 60–70 kmph and very rough seas can occur
during thundershowers. Naval and fishing communities are advised to remain cautious
and follow updated weather information when planning marine activities.
