# SRI LANKA WEATHER FORECAST FOR TOMORROW, 01 OCTOBER 2026

Weather conditions across Sri Lanka are expected to become more favorable for afternoon
thundershowers from 01 October,Showers or thundershowers are expected in most parts
of the island after 1.00 p.m., marking an increase in afternoon rainfall activity.

Fairly heavy rainfall exceeding 75 mm is likely at some places in the Central, Sabaragamuwa,
Uva, Eastern and North Central provinces. Residents in these areas should remain
alert to changing weather conditions, particularly during afternoon and evening 
thundershowers.

Temporary localized strong winds and lightning may occur during thundershowers. 
The general public is advised to take adequate precautions to minimize possible 
damage and remain cautious when thunderstorms develop.

Misty conditions are also expected during the early morning hours in some areas 
of the Central, Sabaragamuwa and Uva provinces. Reduced visibility may affect motorists,
especially in elevated and mist-prone locations.

### **Sea Areas Forecast**

A few showers or thundershowers may occur in the sea areas extending from Mullaittivu
to Pottuvil via Trincomalee and Batticaloa during the evening or night. Winds around
the island will be south-westerly at speeds of 20–30 kmph.

Sea conditions may become hazardous temporarily during thundershowers, with strong
gusty winds and very rough seas possible. Fishermen and other marine communities
are advised to remain attentive to changing conditions and exercise caution during
thunderstorms.
