### Rainfall Forecast for Sri Lanka

Several spells of showers are expected in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces,
as well as in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.

Meanwhile, showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in the Uva Province
and the Batticaloa, Ampara and Hambantota districts after 1.00 p.m.

Mainly fair weather conditions are expected to prevail in other parts of the island.

strong winds and lightning that may occur during thundershowers.

### Cyclone Arnab Weakens Over India

According to the Department of Meteorology, Cyclonic Storm Arnab, which was located
over the north coastal Andhra Pradesh region of India, has weakened into a deep
depression.

The system is expected to continue moving nearly northwards, weakening further into
a depression by the morning of 29 October and into a low-pressure area by 5.30 p.

expected to gradually decrease.

Following the weakening of the system, the warning restricting multi-day fishing
